Our Anolon Advanced Cookware review explores whether or not this cookware set is worth investing in.
Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Pots and Pans Set
Summary: Anolon’s Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set is a solid cookware set that we think most people would love to have in their kitchen, but we were surprised how many features it lacked for the price.
If you need a similar set that’s also dishwasher safe and induction stovetop friendly we’d recommend the Circulon Symmetry Set instead, which has those extra features and comes in at around the same price.

Anolon Advanced Design
Anolon’s Advanced Non-Stick Cookware Set has an attractive, modern aesthetic, with polished stainless steel handles and lids. The set comes in several rich finishes, including indigo (our favorite) and pewter (also gorgeous).
The cookware has a gentle tulip shape with dome-shaped lids.
Anolon Advanced Construction
Anolon Advanced Cookware is constructed of heavy-gauge, hard-anodized aluminum. The aluminum acts as a heat conductor, delivering heat evenly across the surface of the cookware.
The interior of each piece has a durable non-stick coating.
Anolon Advanced Lids and Handles
Anolon Advanced Cookware features their proprietary SureGrip handles. The handles are made of stainless steel that’s been wrapped in a silicone coating and double-riveted to the pan for extra strength. The SureGrip handles are extremely comfortable and stay cool to the touch while cooking on the stovetop.
The lids of the cookware are constructed of domed, tempered glass that’s break-resistant. They fit tightly on the pans, forming a seal that helps with cooking.
Glass lids also allow you to keep an eye on your food while it’s cooking, which is both convenient and fun. 🙂
Anolon Advanced Non-Stick Coating
Anolon Advanced Cookware uses DuPont’s Autograph 3-layer non-stick coating. This is the exact same coating used on Circulon’s Symmetry Set.
DuPont is the same company that makes Teflon, and the easiest way to think of Autograph 2 is that it’s basically a high-end version of Teflon.
Autograph 2 is a triple-layer, PFOA-free premium non-stick coating. It’s applied to the interior and the exterior of the Anolon Advanced cookware.
According to DuPont, Autograph 2 has been restaurant tested and approved by professional chefs. It is a top-of-the-line non-stick coating that can stand up to abuse in the kitchen. You can even use metal utensils on it, although we still recommend using wood or silicone.
Anolon Advanced Care and Maintenance
The Autograph 2 non-stick coating on the interior and the exterior of the Anolon Advanced set make it extremely easy to clean with gentle dish soap and warm water.
Anolon Advanced Limitations
The Anolon Advanced Cookware Set has some limitations that should be considered before purchase.
The cookware set is only oven safe up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This will limit your ability to use some oven-based cooking techniques such as broiling or braising.
Additionally, the Anolon Advanced set is not dishwasher safe. This means it will need to be washed by hand with gentle soap and water.
Finally, the exposed stainless steel parts of the handles can get hot during cooking. This is a common design flaw on these types of cookware sets, but we’re still always disappointed when we see it.

Complaints About Anolon Advanced Cookware
Not everyone loves Anolon’s Advanced Cookware Set. We took a look at some of the common complaints.
One complaint we take seriously is that the exposed stainless steel parts of the handles can get hot during cooking. We noted earlier in our review that this is a fairly common design flaw. For this reason, we encourage cooks to always use an oven mitt when handling hot cookware.
Another issue is that the lids aren’t vented. This isn’t really an issue if you’re just simmering food with the lid on, but at higher temperatures, it could be a problem.
Finally, some users reported that metal utensils will damage the cookware, despite it being advertised as metal utensil friendly. We encourage you to always use wood or silicone utensils on non-stick cookware.
